Your Match Matters
We were approached to create a launch video for Your Match Matters which is helping to build awareness about the stem cell registry and to get more donors on it. We wanted to tell the founder Peter Clarke’s cancer story to put a face to the organization and what led to it’s creation. We wanted the audience to have all the feels but we didn’t want to just create a sad story about cancer. It had to ask the audience to take action and that’s what we did in the last act of this short launch film. This was a fun project creatively as we were able to play with lighting and slow motion to emphasize key moments of Peter’s story.

Canada, you’re Gorgeous
This collection of aerial shots was captured while I was on the road across Canada filming BBC’s “Griff’s Canadian Adventure”. Where I (Josh), was hired onto the show as B camera and as a certified drone operator. There were many long days with little sleep over those 6 weeks of traveling but the experiences of getting to cross the North Atlantic in stormy weather, chasing ocean liners in pilot boats, getting up close and personal with polar bears, and seeing sunrises and sunsets across our vast country made it all worth it!

Thank You, Henoc
This was a small project with very little budget which normally proves challenging for production. Good thing we love a challenge! The producers approached us with a concept that didn’t have much in the way of motivated lighting other than a projector screen in a dark room. Henoc Muamba would be retiring from the CFL and the Toronto argonauts wanted to commemorate his long and successful career. After a few production meetings we had the single greatest idea….wait for it… to add a practical table lamp to the shot! We scoured the city for the best table lamp we could find… (which happened to be in Josh’s home office). The lamp was placed on a side table next to Henoc and that gave us a place to put his game ball and now that we had the lamp next to him we were able to motivate his key light above him. We took this scene that would have been otherwise barren dark and frankly, lacked depth and created texture and warm look for his farewell film.

Maple Leafs x Tim Hortons
The Toronto Maple Leafs invite their season ticket holders to give up their seats a couple times a year for the Leafs NEXT GEN games. Those tickets are then gifted to kids around the GTA who otherwise wouldn’t be able to see their team play live at Scotiabank Arena. Naturally, they also get their brand partners involved and this was the launch video for Tim Horton’s “NEXT GEN TIMBIT” that was available at select Tim Horton’s in the GTA as well as inside Scotiabank Arena during the game. This video was aired during the 2024 NEXT GEN game in arena.
